BLS: Alaska And Pennsylvania Set Record Unemployment Rate Lows In December 2022
WASHINGTON, Jan. 30 -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics issued the following document from the Economics Daily:
In December 2022, the unemployment rates in Alaska (4.3 percent) and Pennsylvania (3.9 percent) set all-time lows (all state unemployment data began in 1976). Utah had the lowest jobless rate in December 2022 (2.2 percent), followed by North Dakota and South Dakota (2.3 percent each).
In total, 14 states had unemployment rates lower than the U.S. figure of 3.

S.D. U.S. Attorney: Sully County Men Sentenced for Crop Insurance Fraud
SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota, Feb. 1 -- The U.S. Attorney for the District of South Dakota, Alison J. Ramsdell, issued the following news release on Jan. 31, 2023:
United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced today that Chief Judge Roberto A. Lange, U.S. District Court, has sentenced two Sully County, South Dakota, men convicted of False Statements in Connection with Federal Crop Insurance. The sentencing took place on January 30, 2023.
